Copperhead Lodge announces Cabin Rental Program performance for 2012

Cabin6thumbDo you dream of having a mountain getaway that pays for itself? Well, pay attention to this! You can own the lifestyle and not foot the bill.

2012 was the second full year of operation for the forty-seven acre destination resort in the North Georgia Mountains. The full service Lodge including eleven guest rooms, a full service restaurant and bar, and live entertainment, is blanketed by forty acres containing sixty lots for park model cabins.

During 2012 there were 12 of the 20 currently-constructed cabins participating in the rental program. All cabins are individually owned and are deeded real property. Owners desiring a return on their investment participate in the rental program and receive 70% of gross rentals. Copperhead Lodge is a destination resort marketing nightly and weekly rentals to vacationers in the North Georgia Mountains. The resort boasts underground utilities and paved roads. Resort amenities include a salt water swimming pool and natural amphitheatre.

There are two types of cabins in the rental program, Standard and Elite. All cabins havecabin16frontgarage500 one bedroom, one bath, and full kitchen, with some offering additional sleeping in a second bedroom or loft. The Elite cabins offer the same amenities as the Standard including satellite TV, grills, and a sleeper sofa, but also offer an expanded outdoor living area, a full size hot tub, and a private motorcycle/ATV garage. Cabins will sleep 2-4 people.

During 2012 the Cabin Rental Program reached 1,029 rental nights, with an ADR of $117.06, in comparison to 2011 totals of 577 nights and an ADR of $108.78. Owners of Elite cabins averaged a net return of $7,554 and Standard owners averaged a net return of $4,481. Group Sales was the largest market driving the year-over-year increase – from motorcycle clubs/organizations to family reunions.

Brad Betters, an Elite cabin owner said: “We built our Cabin in September of 2011 and immediately joined the rental program. We are very pleased with the performance of our Cabin as an investment and look forward to continued growth in the resort and the rental program.”

Tom Gibson, an Elite cabin owner who purchased in May 2012 said: “I had a CD coming due and the bank was offering about 1%. Since purchasing my cabin in May 2012, I’ve already made a 6% return in just seven months. I’m thrilled with my investment at Copperhead.”

The future continues to look bright for the resort and the rental program. As of February 28, 2013, there are advanced reservations for cabins in 2013 totaling 571 nights; more than 50% of the previous years’ bookings. Rental Program Manager Michelle Evans said: “We expect to outperform our 2012 results by at least 25%. This is great news for our resort and our rental cabin owner partners.”

“Our growth has been spectacular, but continues to be hindered by a shortage of cabins available for rental. We stay sold-out on weekends from Memorial Day through the first of November, and turn away a great number of groups needing accommodations for more than 50 people,” Michelle went on to say.

If you are looking for an investment, this is your opportunity. Visit the sales website at for information on real estate, and visit the resort website at for more information on the resort. If you need additional information, please contact Michelle Evans at or 706-835-7433. Open house every weekend (when not sold out).

Willner’s next album “Greener” with band “Screen Door” was hailed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as having “an inescapable resemblance to some of James Taylor’s best work, displaying the same sprightly mix of sweetness, smarts and irresistible melodic hooks.”  Legendary award-winning mastering engineer Earle Holder, known for his work with Public Enemy and numerous projects with other Platinum artists, says of “Rescue Me,” Willner’s next release, “Tom’s diverse stylistic talents truly shine on this album. The industry needs more music like his.” Most recently, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had this to say about his musical, “Seeing things differently is the guiding principle behind ‘Turning Thirty,’ which attempts to do for cancer what the Tony Award-winning musicals ‘Next to Normal’ and ‘Rent’ did for bipolar disorder and people living with HIV, respectively. Set it to music… Similarly, Willner’s score packs emotional wallops along with punch lines.”

And his second comedy song CD “Leave Em’ Laughing” contains 12 more funny songs. Bill currently tours with various Artists. In between road dates, he offers is Award-Winning Radio Personality to WSM radio station, the home of the Grand Ole Opry. Open House at The Lodge @ Coppperhead – April 2, 2011

Like a Breath of Fresh & Crisp Mountain Air
The Lodge at Copperhead Resort Community, Blairsville, GA

The Lodge at Copperhead offers the perfect getaway destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia whether for the day, weekend, or an extended vacation.  And, now you can own the lifestyle. A place to call home away from home is now an affordable option.  Ask us to show you how.  Come out this Saturday, April 2, 2011, for our Customer Appreciation Weekend and Open House.

The Pleasures of Ownership in a Resort Community
What’s extraordinary is that you don’t have to do anything.  You can relax, kick-back and take-in the natural beauty and scenic vistas of the North Georgia Mountains from your own porch, take day excursions, or enjoy the activities at the Lodge.

Log cabin ownership provides many opportunities to get to know the area. Site-seeing will take on new meaning from a mountain overlook when you recognize that the name, Blue Ridge Mountains, is not just a name of a mountain system in the Appalachian Mountains, but a description of what the eye can see for miles in either direction on a clear day.
It’s a good day in the mountains whether you wake-up to blues skies or with cloud cover.  On overcast days, a cloud mist appears below the mountain tops creating the appearance of a sea of lakes beneath the Blue Ridge Peaks. Some folks call it a “sea of clouds.” It’s an ah ha moment and worth a visit each season just to see the changes in the misty mountains.
The Blue Ridge Mountains may also be viewed via the railways that track through the mountains for observing mountains and valleys untouched by mankind. Short day outings to explore the area could include Brasstown Bald, the highest mountain in the South to Helton Creek Waterfalls and other distinct waterfalls, and lakes in the region. For more information about adventure in the mountains, see Explore the Area on our website.

For the adventurous, log cabin ownership also provides the option of taking part in packages offered by The Lodge at Copperhead.  Those include whitewater rafting, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, trout fishing, golfing and the new riding/driving attraction in the North Georgia Mountains, the Gauntlet.

There is something to see and do in every season – Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.  From taking – in the many festivals, Scottish Festival, Sorghum Festival, Apple Festival to antique shopping there is something to do.  Come home in the evenings to hand-prepared entrées offered by the Lodge restaurant.  Then relax on the porch overlooking the Copper Creek during the Spring and Summer or in the Grand Hall in the winter months by the blazing over-sized river rock fireplace and enjoy one of the many musical events and your favorite beverage.
