Thanksgiving Feast – Blairsville, GA
Since the nineteenth century early gold rush days near Dahlonega, GA., the hills in Blairsville were known for their purest gold. Time and greed quickly gobbled up the precious mineral. Yet, there is still gold in these mountains. Located at the top of Georgia, the city of mountains with its motto “A Place for All Seasons” gives visitors an ah ha experience twelve months of the year.
Blairsville has a rich history of gold, Cherokee Indians, early settlers, and colorful autumns. It acts as a passing reminder of the first Thanksgiving in 1621 when the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast. Although, there have been changes throughout the centuries – struggles
and achievement – meshing the past into chronological events to review in history
books, the majestic beauty of the mountains remains the same.
This year begin a tradition of family gatherings in the mountains of North Georgia. Meet family and friends at The Lodge at Copperhead and experience the blissful pleasure of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Reserve your table today for the 2011 Thanksgiving Day Feast, November 24th from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. The menu is available on the website or Facebook. Also, check-out the “To Go” Deep-fried Cajun Turkeys. “Reservations
